Using Batasari

How do I find people going the same way?

In Connect, type where you're going: you'll see the travellers heading there, with a green dot on anyone online now. Tap Connect on someone – once they accept, they're in your connections. Trips people have posted are on Home under This weekend (See all shows every one), on each destination's page and in Explore's “Leaving soon” row: open one and tap Request to Join, and once the organiser accepts you're in a squad together with a group chat and a cost split.

How do connections work?

Tap Connect on a traveller – in Connect or on their profile – and they can accept or decline. Once they accept, you're connected: Connect → My connections shows everyone you're connected with and how many, and Requests shows who's asked you and who you're waiting on. Add “Where are you going next?” in Connect so travellers going the same way can find you – only the place and dates, never where you are. Only travellers with the Verified tick can connect, and you can remove a connection at any time.

Can I find people for a day out in my city?

Yes. Create → Plan a day out: pick what you're doing – roam the city, shopping, a movie, a food walk and more – where to meet and when. People nearby can ask to join; once you accept them you're in a squad to chat and split what you spend. On Home, This weekend → See all shows what others have planned: tap Day plans there, or This weekend for trips leaving soon. Always meet in a busy public place.

How do I post my own trip?

Tap Create at the bottom, then Post a trip – or open a destination and tap “Post a trip to…”. Add where you're starting from, the dates and how many spots are open. People heading the same way can then ask to join, and you choose who comes.

How do I join someone's trip?

Open the trip – from Home's This weekend, Explore or a destination's page – and tap Request to Join. The person who posted it decides. When they accept, you're added to the trip's squad to chat, plan and split costs. Your requests are in My trips on the home screen. Free accounts can have 5 open requests at a time; Premium has no limit.

What is a squad?

A private group for one trip: a group chat, the plan and a shared expense list. Start one from Create → Start a squad, or from the Chat tab. Friends join with the squad's code (Chat → Join with code). When you accept someone onto a trip you posted, they join its squad automatically. A squad holds up to 15 people, or 100 with Premium.

How do I split costs with my squad?

Open the squad, then Split costs → Add expense: what it was, how much, and who paid. Batasari works out who owes whom in the fewest payments, and Pay by UPI opens your UPI app with the amount filled in. Add your UPI ID once so friends can pay you back. Batasari never holds the money.

How do I work out what a trip will cost?

Home or Create → Plan a trip, or tap a place on Home. Pick where from, where to, the dates and who's going, then tap Budget, Comfort or Premium – or choose travel, stay, food, local travel and the places you'll visit yourself. The total counts only what you pick, per person and for the group. Post it, start a squad from it, share it as a picture or save it for later.

Are the prices shown real?

Train and flight fares come live and are marked LIVE. Bus, driving, stay, food and local travel figures in Plan a trip are typical estimates, marked ESTIMATE – good for planning, not a quote. Batasari never shows made-up bus fares; it links you to the sites that sell them.

Can I book buses, trains, flights or hotels in Batasari?

Batasari compares – it doesn't sell tickets or rooms. Train and flight fares are live, and tapping one opens the site that sells it. For buses, Batasari shows the sites that run that route – TGSRTC, APSRTC, redBus, NueGo, FlixBus and more – side by side. For stays, Nearby → Stays lists real hotels and guest houses with their phone numbers where known. The booking, payment and ticket are with that site or place.

How does Nearby work?

Home → Nearby shows real places around you – sights, food, stays, and hospitals and police under Emergency – from OpenStreetMap, with call and directions buttons. Allow location when asked. Every destination's page has the same list for that place.

Which places does Batasari cover?

Anywhere in India – you can post a trip to any place. Explore starts with guides to places across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh – Ananthagiri Hills, Araku, Tirupati, Srisailam, Warangal, Gandikota, Bhadrachalam and more – each with who's going, what's nearby and what it costs.

Can I share my trip on Instagram?

Yes. In a squad, open Trip recap to make a card of your trip and share it straight to your Instagram story. Trips and posts also have a share button for WhatsApp and anything else on your phone.

Your account

Do I need to download an app?

No. Batasari works in any browser at app.batasariapp.com, on phones and computers, including iPhone. You can look around without signing in; sign in to post, join or chat. The Android app is coming to Google Play.

How do I sign up or sign in?

Enter your email or mobile number and you're sent a 6-digit code – no password needed. Your account is created the first time you sign in.

How do I get the Verified tick?

In the app, open Profile and tap “Not verified yet”. Fit your face in the circle on screen – it turns green when it’s right – and blink once: the photo takes itself. Our team checks it matches your profile photo – usually within 1–2 days – and the tick appears on its own. No ID documents are needed. The face check runs on your device, and the photo is seen only by the Batasari team and deleted once they have checked it.

What does “would travel with them again” mean?

After a trip, people who went together can say whether they'd travel with each other again. Only the yeses are shown – as a count on someone's About me – so it's a sign of a good travel companion, never a public complaint.

How do I change my profile?

Profile → Edit Profile changes your name, photo and details.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open Profile → Privacy & Security → Delete my account. Or use our delete your account page – no need to sign in. Your profile, photos, trips, posts, squads and messages are deleted within 7 days, and we confirm when it's done.

Pricing & Premium

Is Batasari free?

Yes. Finding and posting trips, squads, chat, splitting costs, Nearby, Plan a trip and every safety feature are free. Premium only adds extras like one-to-one messages and faster support.

What does Premium include?

Message any traveller one to one, unlimited join requests (free accounts have 5 open at a time), squads of up to 100 people instead of 15, priority support within 4 hours instead of 24 – with Dari raising the ticket for you when it can't solve something – and a Premium badge in your squads. Get it from Profile → Batasari Premium.

How much does Premium cost?

Right now, for early members: 1 month is ₹9 and 3 months is ₹24 (₹27 with 10% off). Once the founding price ends: 1 month is ₹29 and 3 months is ₹78 (₹87 with 10% off). Prices are in INR and include taxes.

Does Premium renew automatically?

No. You pay once for 1 or 3 months and it simply ends when that time is up – nothing is charged again unless you choose to renew. Renewing early adds to the time you have left.

What happens when Premium ends?

Premium runs from the day you pay – buy on 17 October and one month lasts until 17 November. You then get 2 extra days to renew without losing anything, and the app reminds you near the end. After that the account goes back to free: your squads, chats and trips stay; only the Premium extras stop.

Payments & refunds

How do I pay for Premium?

In the app, open Profile → Batasari Premium, pick a plan and pay through Razorpay by UPI, card or netbanking. The exact price is shown before you pay, and Premium turns on as soon as the payment is confirmed.

My payment failed but money was deducted

If money left your account but the payment shows as failed, the bank normally returns it on its own within about a week. If you paid for Premium and it hasn't turned on, contact us with the date and amount and we'll check it.

Can I get a refund for Premium?

If you haven't used any Premium benefit, you can ask for a full refund within 24 hours of paying. Details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

How do I cancel a ticket I booked through a link?

Tickets are booked on the site you chose – IRCTC, redBus, TGSRTC and so on – so cancelling and refunds happen there: use that site or app, or the confirmation email they sent you. Batasari can't cancel them because it never held the booking.

Privacy & safety

Can other travellers see my phone number?

No. A number is only shared once both people have agreed – after a request to join a trip has been accepted. Anyone just browsing trips cannot see it, and nor can someone whose request you have not accepted.

How do I stay safe from scams?

Never pay a stranger in advance to “book” a trip, a seat or a hotel for you, and never share an OTP, your UPI PIN or bank details – Batasari will never ask for them. Pay your own share only after you've met, and only through Split costs in your squad. Meet first in a public place and tell someone at home your plan. If anyone asks for money or pushes you to move to another app, report the squad or conversation from its info screen.

What safety features are there?

Home → Safety has your emergency contacts, a one-tap call to 112, and Safe mode. Nearby → Emergency lists the closest hospitals and police. You can report or block anyone – from the ⋮ menu on their trip, their join request, a squad’s member list or their post. Reports reach our team as urgent and are looked at within 30 minutes; blocking means you stop seeing each other and they can’t contact you. All of it is free. In an emergency, call 112 first.

How is my data used?

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and how to have your data deleted.

Support

How do I get help?

The fastest way is Dari, the assistant in the app (Profile → Help & Support → Ask Dari), which answers straight away. For anything it can't solve, raise a support ticket from Help & Support – replies appear in My Support Tickets within 24 hours, or 4 hours with Premium. You can also send us a message or email support@batasariapp.com.

Something isn't working in the app

Try closing and reopening the app, and check your internet connection. If it still happens, let our team know what you tapped and what went wrong.
